Participant Protection Practices

At WGI, participant protection is a shared responsibility—and a core value of our commitment to excellence in the Sport of the Arts. The Participant Protection Practices series is a four-year progressive learning pathway designed to build a strong foundation of safety, ethical behavior, and proactive prevention across our community. This annual course sequence equips performers, instructors, volunteers, and organizational leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants. Each course deepens learning by focusing on developmental themes aligned with key protective factors, informed by best practices in youth protection, trauma-informed care, and risk prevention.
